India vs Australia 1st Test Match Preview
Australian batsmen are confident that they has the ability to fight against spin bowling attack from India, they have got ingredients and tricks that can be of great significance for the Australian batsmen. In the history, spin bowling has always been a strong weakness for Australia due to which, their opponents always select numbers of spinners to be included in the team. Considering these facts, India has also included Pragyan Ojha, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and R Ashwin.
ESPN Star Cricket and Sky Sports HD will entertain its viewers with live telecast of first test match between India and Australia as Fox Sports telecast live in Australia.
As well as, Indian batsmen were also not so efficient to play against spinners like they have shown their weaknesses in their series against England. Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann were effective as they got averages of 26.82 and 24.75 respectively.
Pragyan Ojha is a brilliant spinner for India as he has got 20 wickets with the average of 30.85 in that series. Ashwin was also effective in the series as he returned 14 players of pavilion whereas, Piyush Chwla, Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh were not able to make big contributions.
Mickey Arthur who is the Australian coach is expecting that the boys can fight with the Indian spinners despite of the fact that, they were not so effective against India A and Australia have to bear follow on against them. He stated that Australian batsmen have got some motivation and they are showing some positivity to make attacks on the spinners.
He further stated that the team must have to be goal oriented while playing against India, they must have to implement pressure over India and strike big shots so that Indian players can become under pressure.
They were unsuccessful in the series with England and now, they are coming with lots of expectations and responsibilities that is a huge pressure itself. He disclosed his main idea that the team will try to dominate in every phase of the first test match.
Michael Clarke and Shane Watson are important players in the first test match as they have got great international test cricket and they are familiar with the pitch conditions.
The coach also stated that he is also impressed with the all rounding performance from Moises Henriques who has got great chance to make his debut effective and impressive in Chennai. He was also amazing against India A as he struck 3 sixes and 2 fours, made 33 runs from 41 balls on Monday.
Their coach said that if the team wants to win this series, they must have to be careful and hard working and must not have to under estimate their hosts. He is expecting an aggressive game from the team and is looking forward for the day to happen.
Not only spinners are the factors of concern for Indian team but unpredictable and unexpected performances from Sachin Tendulkar were also big problems for the team. He had made just a half century in his past 13 matches and made last hundred on January 2011 in Cape Town. He made his last century on the homeland against Australia in 2010.
Considering Sachin Tendulkar’s performance, Mickey Arthur stated that they have always bowled brilliantly against him and will bowl similarly in the upcoming matches. He suggested his bowlers to develop strong bowling attack from the beginning and restrict them to cheap runs. They can make Indian batsmen under pressure by returning them to cheap runs and get wickets from short intervals.
